ok after a rough week (didnt blog cuz i didnt feel like discussing the week long headache) but i finally completed the 10k goal. Im very happy as i didnt think i was actually going to be able to achieve. In my last update i talked about playing at night and i really do enjoy playing at night much more than i do during the day. Sometimes there is simply not enough quality games going and thus making me playing a small amount of volume by day. Im going to continue this blog and am going to come up with a new challenge where it may not be a monetary goal but a Volume goal instead. Im taking the next couple of days off or am going to play some small volume but will update soon with a new challenge that i can hopefully get to

Day 15

well i decided to change up my schedule up a little bit. I had been getting very sick and tired of playing during the day. For some reason i had felt very sluggish when playing aroudn the day and fel like i was wasting the day inside when i should be hanging out with friends and actually doing something. I decided to try and play the night shift and reall liked it and think im going to continue doing it. I played 35 sngs today between the times of 10:45pm-3:15Am with a 25 minute break from 1-1:25. Thats just over 4 hours of play and i have noticed that the play goes much quicker during these hours for whatever reason. It might be drunk americans or bad european players in the morning but either way i really think i might stick to this. If i can get myself to fall asleep at like 4 am then i can still have a very productive day without feeling like i have just slept it off. so im going to start at hopefully 9:30-10:30 from now on and usually play to right around what i did last night.

Day 14

Well the streak of consecutive winning days has come to and end. I knew it would come to an end as i could see that my play has been slipping and my concentraion towards the end of the goal has been so focused on me finishing this that i have not been as tuned in at the table as i should be. I woke up this morning and felt very sluggish and not really in the greatest mood and forced my way through 25 sngs and played some mtts becuz sngs seemed to really bore me today. I didnt do anything in the MTTs (standard) and lost some money stakeing people as welll. O well im really going to come back focused tommorrow and try to stick to my schedule and put in a bigger volume tommorrow. I also played way to many HU sngs today. I am v good hu sng player but i really should focus on 6 handed as thats the ladder i prefer to move up in and they are less prone to tilt me then HU sngs.

Day 13

ugh today was the roughest day in my 30 day challenge and i really really never got anything going all day. i stll somehow ended up on the day even though i dont really ever being above even at any part of the day besides my last sng. i played 51 sngs which is a good amout and would like to keep a total of somewhere between 45-50 sngs a day Mon-Thursday. I played 44 $ 6 handed turbo maxs and was down some money. i then decided to play 7 HU sngs on tilt and did pretty well and was able to get me back in the green for the day. Im actually playing the turbo hundo with some of my winnings as we speak. I look foward to playing 60+ tables tommorrow. here is hoping that every time i run like crap i still have a winning day that means i must be doing something right.

Day 12

ok i again played a 2/3 schedule today becuz it is saturday and i usually wont play a full day on saturdays ever. I played 25 6 max turbos today and i played 9 HU sngs ranging from 100-110 $ buy in. I usually wont play that many HU sngs in a day but 6 max was really annoying today and i think i acutally booked my first losing day in 6 max since i started this goal. But the 9 HU sngs in which i went 6-3 put me ahead for the day making this another small victory in that i have noe had 12 straight winning days on this quest. I really didnt run well at all in the 6 max and got put in some sick sitaution and i made a terrible lay down in one instance that prolly end up costing me 300 $. I think i played pretty solid and was really raising a ton of pots today and just didnt fare well in as many showdowns as i would have liked. With my relentless bubble agression i tend to get in "bad" becuz of ICM hand ranges etc with a big stack. this causes me to get in a lot of all-ins and my days can be very up or down depending on how i do in critical bubble 40-60s and such. Its good to know that even on a pretty crumby day that i still managed to stay in the green and thats what really makes me think i might be turning things around for a monster year.

ok tommorrow is the superbowl and since it is sunday i plan on only playing the 215 HU matches with the 217 $ in profit that i had today. So i guess if i lose tommorrow i had a big weekend making 2 $ :) . i will update tommorrow letting everyone know how i did and hopefully i ship this tourney for 13.9 k (want it so bad)

Day 11

ok i played a 2/3 schedule today as it is friday and had a pretty solid day again. looking back on the blog i have now had 11 straight winning days at the being of this challenge. That is a pretty incredible feat and am happy that i am somehow almost done with this challenge when im not even half way through the time i gave myself to complete this goal. The weird thing about this goal was that i set the bar high and just hoped to fall aroudn somewhere in the middle. Obv many things are the reason for my recent success but i feel like my trip to the bahamas might have really been something that put me back in the right frame of mind to go back to "work" . In the last two days i have been 6-7 tabling and usually stop after completing 15-8 sngs depending on how i have felt. Its amazing how much less time it takes to play when u continually reg as opposed to registering for 6 then playing them all and then starting back at 1 sng. the key is to play as many tables an hour as possible without my ROI decreasing......this is the true way to maxamize my profits which i plan on doing much better this year. That also goes along with better table selection in HU sngs and some 6 man sngs as well. The only -ev field that i prolly play weekly is the 215 HU matches and im prolly a coin flip against the majority of that tourney but i love that tourney and it would really mean a lot to me if i made it deep. I havent really ever had a big score and since i really hate playing MTTs i find this to be the most suitable way to try and get my big score without just dumping my money in the sunday millon trying to win a ton of coin flips.

Day 10

Ok i tried to play as much as possible today as this was my first day back in the challenge and i think i did a fair job. I think i played roughly 6-7 hours and was always 6-7 tabling and was happy that i did a pretty good job keeping my compousure throughout most of my 15-17 tables sessions. During my last session the middle of it i was zoning out really hard and that made me know that i was done after playing that. I played 45 sngs and really took some sick beats and had way to many 3rd places in 6 handed sngs and that just really upset me throughout the majority of my sessions. I still had a couple of nice runs throughout the sessions and was able to really secure a winning session for the day aroudn halfway through my second session when i went on a sick run with 3 straight 1st places really boosting my day. im going to try and play from 11:00 to 2:00 and 4:00-7:00 and that should get me to hopefully aroudn 40-50 Sngs tommorrow which is all u can ask for on a Friday (going out tommorrow night)

i will not recieve much rakeback on Feb 5th becuz i got a 500 $ bonus (which i cleared) and becuz i only played about 12-15 days during the month becuz of the bahamas and internet card fiasco and waiting for these challenges to arrive. Just a couple of things for the next 50 days of poker (beyond the 30 day goal)

Until Ireland im going to try and play as many sngs as possible. i am going to try and take most of the time playing sngs during the day between the laptop and the desktop. I hope that the rest of this 5 months cant prove how competent a player i am. ok i am mostly going to play 6 handed max turbo sngs (hopefully 50+ a day). And since i am now done earninng my Bonus i am now going to be earning a fat rakeback check hopefully at the begin of march becuz of how much i play in february

Here is a couple of challenges i am running during this time

1. From Feb3rd to March 3rd i am going HU with threeven in a overall profit challenge where i believe the overall winner will pocket roughly 200-400 $. Nothing compared to what were going to earn hopefully but were both competitive guys

2. Jan31st-Feb13th- i am going HU with PhiAlphaMtsu for the next 14 days (previous mention) about whoe will play the most volume of turbo 6 max sngs in the next 14 days. I play at a much higher stake then him on average so we could not do profit like me and threeven are doing. So hopefully by winning this bet and putting in a nice volume i will win both bets netting me even more free money

The 30 Day Challenge Starts Back up tommorrow.........

ok my wireless card came in late today and decided it would be a good idea to take off the majority of the day. I played a couple of Step 4 sngs (215 $ buy in) and got one step 5 ticket (700 $) and andother step 4 ticket back. I am going to follow the schedule as best that i can that i put on my previous post. Really try and put some sick hours of sngs in and it would be even nastier to see how much more money i could really make. Im playing right now and maybe running above expectation i guess only a ton of more volume, which i plan on doing will tell if my first 9 days was truly a fluke or not. Im trying to make some extra money to enroll my backers faster and to pay for two poker trips in the next three months, both of which are going to be out of the country.

1. On March 16th i am going to fly Into Dublin Ireland for the irish poker open. i plan on playing some of the side events and mostly trying to satty into those. IM also going to get drunk a lot and try and sight see as much as possible. I mean how often am i frickin Ireland ? u know. i plan on staying till the 23/24th depending on how well my roomate is doing in the ME. This trip is about 90 percent sure going as of now

2. There is a small chance that i might go to monte carlo on April12-17th if a friend of mine may or may not let me stay with him (one time dealer) if i can get a room for a meal or two then i can prolly aforrd the plane ticket plus the real expensive meals. I dont know how much poker i would play but i would have to see what monaco is i mean holy crap im 20 years old and going to be in one of the nicest placest in the world. I would hopefully play some of the smallest buy ins they have

3. The third option is San Remo which is located in Italy. I will only go to san remo if i satty into it thru the step system which i have two step 5s and two step 4s. If i some how make it to san remo then i will not go to Monte Carlo and would instead make this my final trip becuz i won a seat so i would obv play the Main Event and if i get knocked out maybe just play side events or cash games IDK

so its tuesday and it prolly wont be here till tommorrow im guessing. Kind of sucks becuz i wanted to start my "new" schedule but i guess things willl have to wait another day till my verizon wireless card comes in. here is a look at the schedule that i hope on keeping Mon-Thursday and Fri-Sat are going to be half days and im going to have sundays off (besides MTTs)

ok my verizon wireless broadband card which i use on both my laptop and desktop decided to just brake this morning. Thus rendering me with no internet for the majority of the day. I talked to verizon support and basically they have to ship me a new broadband card. He said it would either be here on tuesday or wednesday so thats when the goal will restart. Right now im posting on my apartments internet but the connection is not strong enough and sometimes randomly goes out. Basically i refuse to put 450-500 $ on the line every time im sitting down just to lose it becuz my apartments connection suddenly goes. out. POKER will always be here and there is no need for me to take stupid risks like playing with a weak connection

ok i played a pretty similar volume today that i did yesterday and i am once again dissapointed. i got off to a hot start again and just decided to quit after i netted myself a nice profit. In fact i think today went almost exactly like yesterday lol. I have been playing some HU sngs at night becuz of the monotony of playing a bunch of 6 handed sngs. i hope that i can rebound in the volume department and not continue to slide like i have been as late. After 8 days im on one of my hotest streaks as a pro poker player and have been very happy to "prove" that i can still make some really good money for someone my age. i hope to rebound from a dry spell in volume over the last two days and stop feeling satisfied with myself after a good first day session. I mean i dont think even a min of 40 games is asking a lot from someone such as myself to complete on a daily basis.

Day 7

ok i had a very dissapointing day volume wise. i was only able to play 14 sngs and it was out of pure laziness. after my first session today i was up about 550 $ and just felt like i put in a days work. This is something i really have to cut out. i mean 14 sngs thats just pathetic. My last 3 sngs were HU sngs at the 100 $ level and i went 3-0, netting me another sweet day in the monetary department. i hope to come back tommorrow with a better outlook and if i get up to a big start again that i will continue to put in the volume throughout the rest of the day. this is something im really strugling with and am not really happy despite my $$$ domination through the first week.

Day 6

ok im still having a volulme problem and it really is upsetting me. I only plsyrf 33 sngs today and have averaged around 33-35 sngs a day for the first 6 days of this challenge. Im puttining in roughly 2/3 of the volume that i set out to put and thats not acceptable that im not reaching that. Ill try to do better but its still something u can see i clearly struggle with. Unlike the first 5 days of this challenge i faced a lot of adversity all day. My profit was all over the place and had a very up and down day. But its good to see that i still made a profit today after 33 more sngs. I am really far ahead of the monetary aspect of my goal and would obv like to finish early :) here is hoping that tommorrow will be just as good as the first 6 days of this challenge

Day 5

Well this Sng goal has gotten off to a hot start i think even if i finish off the sng $$$ goal that im going to continue the blog as it seems to help my game out. That can never be a bad thing. I played only 30 sngs today as i was busy hanging out with friends who didnt have school today becuz of MLK day. I also played about 90 minutes of 1/2 and .50/1 $ 6 handed max cash. Im going to try and play 5-10 hours of 6 handed max cash a week. cash games have always been something ive been intrigued by. I have played so many sngs (HU 6 or 9 handed) and have always heard people say well if u can beat cash that ur really not a good poker player. I happen to think thats crap. Its just that the three different types of NL (cash,sng,and MTT) that u must master be4 ur given all around credbility. i would like to work my way up in cash games and put in some more hours trying to get better at them. I have played such a small sample size of cash games and would like to see if i could do well in them a little bit. Who knows i might even make a little bit of extra money. Im happy that the monetary goals of this sng goal have gone well but would still like to put in even more hours than i am now. I know that as a sng player (especially a profitable one) that the more hours u play the more money u make and therefore i should be playing at least 35 hours a week. And since im not going to school this semester i should really try and put in 50-60 hours a week and really make a nice amount of profit be4 i head back to school in august

Taking Sunday Off

im taking today 1/20/08 off becuz i am going to be hanging out today with my roomates and some friends and watch football. Im going to bet 40 $ on the packers/giants although im not sure how im going to bet as of yet. Im also going to play the 215 HU matches that is run by pokerstars. The last time i played it i got 13th place after losing to XTheSteinX and it was a really devastating way to end a tournament where i really thought i played well. I hope to do well in it today and it starts in about 75 minutes. I will update this post letting u guys know how i did. I will continue back with the 30 day 10k goal which has gone really well for me so far.

Day 4

Today went again very well and any day u are in the green then its a good day. I played about 40 sngs which is good and im still hoping to improve on my sngs played per day. Unlike the first three days of this challenge i was faced with adversity all day and never got a ton of huge sessions put together. I played about 4 to 5 sessions and think about 4 of them were losing to break even sessions and i had one session where i made 1000 $. i ended up the day up around like 600 so i guess i really shouldnt complain. I ran really bad in a couple of sessions and hadnt faced that the first three days but i have to expect that when ur playing a lot of sngs a day. I hope that some day in the first 10 days that i will be able to play 50 sngs a day and really start to put in a good volume. I feel that im really putting in a good performace at the tables and my endgame is better than ever. I am gaging my opponents hand ranges and what there thinking at a higher level right now then i think i ever have. It has shown the evolvment in my sng game that i hope continues to show me having a noteworthy 2008 in sngs

Day 3

H.E.A.T.E.R.........is an understatement.....i dont remember running this good in quite some time. Ive been playing well and completly dominating my opponents three handed and thats turning into a lot of firsts. Im also seeing greats results in the 72s making my success and $$$ figure inflated and much higher than it normally should be. This month has gotten off to a great start and im only hoping its a sign of things to come for me to have a big year in online poker. Since im not taking school until august im going to put my concentration on backing players and teaching them and also raising my stakes and seeing and hopefull showing how far my game has come and that im one of the better sng players. Im still having one problem though and its been very upsetting. Im not putting in the volume plain and simple. Its rly frustrating becuz i am killing the game right now and it would be foolish of me not to play and crush as much as i can.

I RUN REALLY GOOD. i played pretty well today but was amazed by all the suckouts and winning and closing most of my 72 $ buy ins which is key to having big days like this. I only managed to put in 32 sngs today and am truly dissapointed in the amount i played. regardless of how i do monetary wise (off to great start) i did this goal to increase my volume and its still something im getting better at. i wish i could play 100 a day but thats not rly me and if i did i would prolly be a much better and well known sng player than i am today. i truly believe that im one of the better sng players (against weak opponents). i believe the key to being a great sng player is volume+confidence in ur game. well 2 months ago my game was really not going well and i was being affected by the beats and it hurt my game. Now once i put in even more volume then what im putting in now i will show how good and still show my domination of sngs. Maybe im just rambling but ill see u guys tommorrow and hopefully i have a good day like my first two days in this challenge

Day 1

ok the challenge got off to a really good start and was able to put in a decent amount of tables today. I said that i would try and play 51 tables but only got to 41 and i plan on continuing trying to put in the nesecarry volume for me to be successful in this challenge. I played 26 48 $ sngs and 15 72 $ sngs and played about 5 different sessions ranging anywhere from 5-8 tabling. After my first day ive found that i concentrate much better when i play really only 6 tables at one time. any more that that for now is going to prolly decrease my overall ROI although i still think it may be +ev in hourly rate which i guess is all that matters (jhub3000). I plan on playing a full load tommorrow and trying to maintain and carry on the success that i had today for tommorrow.

ok im using this blog as a way to track my results and a way to prove that i still can put in the volume as a proffesional poker player. Many people in this business play way to much and never leave there laptop. My biggest problem is that i dont play enough. i have been a profitable sng player since the 1st day i played poker and i consider myself to be a good/great (sometimes) 6 handed sng player. i havent played poker in about 3 weeks and am using this as a motivational tool.


im plan on playing 51 sngs a day (6 handed) which may not seems like a ton to a lot of people but this will be a big step up for me

i plan on doing 3 sets of 17 doing 7 at a time and after i have played 17 i will take a break. the 10k will include rakeback (which will make this easier) im going to play 48 $ and 72 $ sngs. im going to change sites depending on the day and seeing how i feel

I have cashed out a lot of my money online recently becuz i knew i was going to take some time off. The best month i have ever had was january of 07 and i hope 2008 will be just as good for my jan-feb 30 day quest.
